Filter Dread is a Brighton-based producer who’s experiments with jungle, grime and techno creates exceptional sound collages getting attention from labels like PAN, Ramp Recordings or Lost Codes. His new material that comes out on our label is called ‘Format‘. This refers to Format FM rave sets that inspired Filter Dread’s music. Format FM is a part of a illegal pirate radio culture which was characteristic for early 90s in Britain. This inspiration reflects, among other things, in incorporation of lofi elements into his tracks. "The quick and unapologetic techniques that were used to make tracks. Short sampling space, limited save functions and other restrictions lead to music that I find to be very pure, energetic and creative.“
